Newspaper Notices

There are several different types of notices placed in the classified section of newspapers such as The West Australian and they include
the following:

  • Bereavements:
Placed by families to thank hospital staff for their help, or friends for their flowers and thoughts.

  • In Memoriam:
Placed to commemorate the anniversary of a death.

  • Death Notices:
Placed by families as a mark of respect or by friends to offer condolences and sympathy.

  • Funeral Notices:
Placed by the family, usually through the funeral director, to announce the time and place of the funeral.

  • Requests for Donations:
Some people like to nominate a charity in honour of the person they have lost with a request that planned expenditures on flowers should take the form of donations to that charity. This request is then included in newspaper notices and in correspondence.

At Seasons we can advise on the wording and costs of these advertisements, we also place them on behalf of our clients and include the cost in our final account. It is part of our service to ensure our clients receive one account that covers as many aspects of the funeral process as possible in order to minimise the pain of continually receiving invoices relating to the funeral for months after the event.
